Based on thousands of true stories, OMAR shows the journey of a young African man, who leaves his hometown in search of a better future. He represents the thousands and thousands of men and women who start this dangerous journey through the desert and the sea, victims of abuse, violence, robbery, torture, and illegal detention. Many of them die. This film is dedicated to them and to their all too often broken dreams.
